Results from the 68th Annual Putnam Mathematical Competition

 

Over 3750 students from 516 institutions competed in the Putnam Mathematical Competition on Dec. 1, 2007. This year’s exam was so difficult that 46.2% of the highly-motivated and gifted math students who took it scored 0.

 

CSUCI had a record 27 students complete the grueling 6-hour exam. The official CSUCI team of Daniel Brice, Jim McDonough, and Daniel Corcoran ranked 135.

 

Particularly noteworthy performances were turned in by the following students.
